The fine for offenders who have not placed their children in a correct child car seat amounts to €350. There are 4 categories of child car seats:

Child seat 0 - 2 years (BABY SEAT):

This seat is suitable for children and infants up to 2 years old and with a maximum weight of 13kg. These seats are usually rear-facing for greater safety of the infant in the event of a crash.

Child seat 2 - 4 years (TOODLER SEAT):

This seat is suitable for children from 2 to 4 years old and with a maximum weight of 18kg.

Child seat 4 - 6 years (CHILD SEAT):

This seat is suitable for children from 2 to 6 years old and with a maximum weight of 36kg

Child seat 6 years and older (BOOSTER SEAT):

This seat is suitable for children over 6 years old. These seats act as additional safety for children and parents are not obliged to use them.
